A former missile silo has got a new homeowner.

Nebraska YouTuber Andrew Flair— who posts videos about and vlogs about fishing, hunting and other outdoorsman activities — said after flipping a coin and it landing on heads, he became the owner of a nuclear missile bunker.

"Jokingly, I text my real estate agent, and I was like, 'we should go look at this and make YouTube videos, and it would be sweet to have a place like this," said Flair.

He has now claimed the 2,500-square-foot underground property, which was originally constructed in 1960.

“Honestly, my initial thoughts were, like this is a nightmare, a disaster, like to get this thing up and running and actually livable, it’s going to be a ton of work.”

While Flair, who has 2.6 million subscribers on YouTube, and his team are working out the electrical kinks, they could have a mystery on their hands.

“There was a murder narcotics case where supposedly they put the body inside of the silo, that’s what the story was. And they dove down into it looking for the body, and they couldn't get down there because of the debris. I talked to the law enforcement officers, and they’re positive it’s in there, they just can’t get down into it.”

The York County Sheriff's Department said they cannot confirm or deny that the search Flair mentioned was from a narcotics investigation from the 1990s.

Flair said making the decision to buy the $550,000 purchase was easy but actually getting it was harder.

“Yeah, the banks were having a tough time with it. The appraisal was having a tough time with it, and the insurance guys were having a tough time.”

But now, the Omaha native has got quite the project on his hands, despite not convincing his wife to visit the nuclear site.

“Yeah, my wife, she wants nothing to do with it, she doesn’t want to go down there ever."

Next up, Flair said he’s planning to renovate the inside of the bunker to make it potentially home renter-friendly that youmight see on Airbnb.
