Before any NFL season starts, many pick their fantasy football players. Not in a competitive way, but just for the heck of it. Over the course of the season, they then get to brag about if their players did well for their team. But when someone, who does not know much about the game ends up picking stars, it leads to hilarious conversations—just like how Jerry Rice reacted when comedian Druski picked his team.

The comedian was present alongside other NFL veterans at the Fanatics Fest held in New York last weekend. When asked to assemble a team consisting of a running back, quarterback and wide receiver, Druski picked Ezekiel Elliott and Patrick Mahomes initially. Then to pick his wide receiver, he picked Odell Beckham Jr. When seeing Jerry Rice laughing hysterically, the comedian said:

Why you laughing Jerry? Ay chill man. Don't throw no shade bruh.
Druski to Jerry Jones

But the legendary wide receiver continued laughing as the panel explained to the comedian that he was six years too late in picking Beckham Jr. After all, fantasy football is about picking players in their prime.

No wonder the entire panel was in splits, given Mahomes, Elliott and Beckham Jr. are on their last legs of their careers. It goes to show that Druski might be a bit off from what is going on in the NFL world.

Druski did say that he had no idea why he was on the stage talking about sports. That too about fantasy football when one has to be aware of the situation surrounding players. But as he is known to bring humor in everything, the crowd along with Jerry Rice, could not believe the comedian’s picks.

Druski’s picks as a team would have struggled in this NFL season

For starters, running back Ezekiel Elliott was a force when he first came into the league. But last season with the New England Patriots, he piled up his lowest season rushing yardage. Injuries have slowed down the former All-Pro. This season, he is back with the Dallas Cowboys. But that may not help much in fantasy football.

Then there is Odell Beckham Jr. Injuries have made the receiver a shell of his former highlight reel self. He barely made it past 500 yards last season. Moreover, with the Miami Dolphins, he will be their third option down the pecking order. With injuries slowing him down, the team will be careful in not giving a heavy workload to the player. Again, a scenario that doesn’t help fantasy football points.

His only good pick, Patrick Mahomes, made sense to anyone in that arena. However, for fantasy football to work, Mahomes alone cannot drive this team to victory. It seems Druski needs to get a grip of what is going on in the NFL to draw up a proper team.
