One really unlucky Apex Legends player received only fifty heirloom shards upon opening an Apex pack instead of a hundred and fifty.

Apex Legends is a battle royale first-person shooter game developed by Respawn Entertainment and set in the same universe as the Titanfall franchise. As it is a free-to-play game, Respawn opted for the freemium model to monetize the game, meaning the core experience is free for all. However, players can purchase cosmetic items using real-world money to support the developers.

In Apex Legends, there are multiple tiers of cosmetic items. Among them, Heirlooms are the most sought-after item in the game by quite a margin. The only way to receive an Heirloom is by getting Heirloom Shards. To purchase an Heirloom, players need to either buy event-specific Apex packs that guarantee an Heirloom or pray to the RNG gods for Heirloom Shards.

Players need to earn 150 Heirloom Shards to get an Heirloom. Usually, players receive 150 Heirloom Shards simultaneously. However, a really unlucky player opened an Apex pack, and instead of receiving 150 Shards, this player only received 50.

Apex Legends Denies Heirloom to Unlucky Player

The glitch left this player unable to get the Heirloom, as you need 150 Shards to purchase one from the in-game Mythic store. After being denied collecting the Heirloom, this player made a post on the official Apex Legends subreddit.

One of the developers at Respawn responded to the distress call and revealed that it was just a bug and there was nothing to worry about. The dev later explains that an unforeseen glitch delayed 100 shards from being added to the account.
