(CNN) — Bankrupt retailer Toys “R” Us may shut down all of its U.S. stores as soon as next week, according to several reports.

The big box toy store has faced financial trouble in recent years. Last September, Toys “R” Us filed for bankruptcy and then earlier this year the chain announced it would close 180 of its more than 800 stores.

But after a disappointing holiday season and failing to find a buyer to help with its debt, the chain may now liquidate all of its U.S. operations.

If Toys “R” Us goes out of business, the entire toy industry will be impacted. Mattel and Hasbro shares were down Friday morning following the news.

According CNBC, one industry analyst predicts that 10 to 15 percent of all toy sales could be lost forever. No final decision about Toys “R” Us has been made.
