The Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers will battle on Sunday Night Football at Heinz Field. Though both of these teams have been perennial contenders over the course of the last decade, this primetime matchup is likely a preview of two teams that will miss the postseason in 2021. After heavy line movement throughout the week, the value on the side and the total has been reduced significantly compared to its opening market price. Instead of forcing action on saturated markets, NFL bettors may find better value on some player props this evening.

Let’s take a deeper look at the matchup to see where bettors can find value at sportsbooks in this contest.

Seahawks vs. Steelers Prop Bets

– o222.5 passing yards (-110)

Having extremely limited live game action over the last few years, performed admirably in relief of last Thursday against a tough Los Angeles Rams defense. In less than a half of action, Smith completed 10-of-17 passes for 131 yards. Ten days of practice time with the first-string unit should pay dividends this evening against a weak Pittsburgh secondary unit that has allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for 10 touchdowns against only two interceptions in 2021. Talented weapons, and should be able to generate plenty of space against sub-par cornerbacks in this one. Seattle is unlikely to force the run game tonight with backup seeing the majority of the action in “(player-popup #chris-carson)Chris Carson”:/players/chris-carson-37073’s absence. The key to staying competitive in this one will be through the air for the Seahawks. Expect Smith to have little trouble hitting the over on his passing yards prop tonight.

– u256.5 passing yards (-110)

In five games this season, Roethlisberger has only hit this threshold twice. In his last eight regular season contests dating back to 2020, he has only thrown for more than 256 yards on three occasions. Entering Week 6, the Seahawks allowed the second-most rushing yards of any team in the NFL. Pittsburgh is far more likely to rely on rookie on the ground in this one, rather than putting the ball into Roethlisberger’s hands unnecessarily. Even in last week’s victory against the Denver Broncos, Roethlisberger had multiple turnover-worthy throws that were lucky to find the ground. Pittsburgh’s best chance to win this game is through a ground-and-pound approach. Per Pro Football Focus, in 2020, Roethlisberger graded 31st out of 32 qualifying quarterbacks in passer rating from a clean pocket. He was equally abysmal under duress, ranking 28th in passer rating. He struggled mightily on both short and deep passes last year, and both of those trends have continued into 2021. Roethlisberger is going to have a difficult time approaching 300 yards in this one. Take the under here.

– u54.5 rushing yards (-110)

As mentioned above, Collins will be the primary running back for the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football. Yet, that might not translate into as many touches as many bettors are anticipating. Last Thursday in a similarly difficult matchup against a tough Los Angeles defensive line, Collins totaled only an inefficient 47 yards on 15 carries. Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, Isaiah Buggs, and Chris Wormley all look like Pro Bowl candidates for Pittsburgh so far this fall. Collins has not rushed for 50 yards in a game since 2018. That fact is not likely to change tonight.

– Any Time Touchdown Scorer (-155)

Harris has scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks for the Steelers, and has scored in three of Pittsburgh’s first five games this fall. Harris is going to be featured heavily tonight against a very poor defensive line for the Seahawks. Roethlisberger has only six touchdown passes this season, and his diminishing skill set could cause Mike Tomlin to take a more conservative approach on the ground near the goal line. Harris has 184 rushing yards on 38 touches over the last two weeks. He has been heavily involved in the passing attack as well, catching 28 balls on 39 targets this year. Harris has multiple ways that he could find the end zone this evening.
