HITC understands that Everton are closing in on the signing of a Serie A winger this summer on an initial loan deal.

Everton, under Sean Dyche, have been busy this summer with the Toffees confirming two key additions so far but also looking Amadou Onana in the process.

Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Onana whilst Everton have completed the signings of Tim Iroegbunam from the Villains and Jack Harrison from Leeds United.

The loss of Onana will be an important one but sources have confirmed that the Toffees are closing in on a deal to sign Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom.

Everton hope to strike Lindstrom agreement

A host of clubs are understood to be chasing the Danish forward but The Toffees have now come to agreement over a loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent.

Everton are understood to be hoping to do a quick deal for him this weekend because there is rival interest in the 24-year-old.

Sources have told HITC that a whole host of clubs in Germany want him including former side Eintracht Frankfurt, and Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford all want him too.

The Denmark international joined Napoli with high hopes last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt at a massive fee of £25 million plus up to another £4 million in additional add-ons.

However, the move to the Italian side has proven to be a struggle for the Danish international as he made 29 competitive appearances for the club, failing to contribute a single goal or assist.

HITC is told that Everton are now looking to tie Lindstrom down to an agreement and beat a number of clubs from the Premier League and across Europe to his signature.

Despite interest from elsewhere, Dyche and the club’s hierarchy hope that the promise of regular action will persuade him and have held extensive talks with the Danish winger.

Despite Everton’s confidence, sources have told HITC that Lindstrom has yet to give a definitive answer about a move to Goodison Park.

Following Denmark’s elimination at the 2022 World Cup, the former Arsenal target Lindstrom was praised for having ‘huge potential. He could turn out to be a good signing for the Toffees.
