NBA Monday Lineups: FanDuel

My lineups from last night were looking like they would be winners, until the Golden State game. The Lakers ran the Warriors out of the stadium, forcing Monta into his worst line and fewest minutes of the season, and also created a real clunker from Reggie Williams. Meanwhile, Pao Gasol had a perfect game, going 10 for 10 from the field and 8 for 8 from the charity stripe. The good news for the Warriors starters is that they got a lot of rest for the second part of their back-to-back vs. Denver tonight so all should be played as they normally would. I got a chance to catch the end of the Wizards/Pistons last night, and it was the first time I’d seen the real Gilbert in a while. Despite losing, he looked focused and poised on the court. He may not be a true point guard but he’s a great facilitator, and it showed with his career high assist total. JaVale McGee looked impressive with 20 points, 16 boards, and 2 swats.

It’s a big Monday night with eight games going down. I love NBA days like these, and this Monday gives us a lot of intriguing options. Haslem is out and D-Wade is expected to sit out, boosting the value of all of the Heat’s starters, especially the King and Like a Bosh. With Haslem out Hibbert could be free to roam down low unless Big Z steps it up, and makes a great option at Center. There are a lot of solid Center plays on Monday, from Dwight all the way down to Nene. You could even make a case for taking Zydrunas Ilgauskas himself, depending on the rest of your lineup. Sacramento continues to be a fantasy mess aside from Tyreke ‘Havoc’ Evans. All of their players are unsafe to use at the moment until we see a consistent starting five coming out of Sacramento. New Orleans gets to use their new players vs. the Clippers, but none of the ex-Raptos have fantasy value right now. The Clippers have some interesting options. Eric Gordon is on fire, but value-grab Eric Bledsoe had an awful game and got his minutes cut, now rendering him a risky and accurately-to-overpriced pick. Then there is Blake Griffin. Wow. Wow. Wow. If you have not seen his highlight reel vs. the Knicks yet, get on that (small sample below). I don’t expect his 44-15-7-2-1 stat-line to be matched [by probably anyone] for the rest of the season, but I do expect him to get more and more consistent with each passing week now that his confidence has been found. Below is the lineup I’m rolling with for Monday. If you have any comments or last-minute lineup calls, let me know in the comments!

FanDuel – NBA Monday Lineup

PositionPlayerCost/Max Cost at Pos.Notes
PGKyle Lowry$5,400/$8,600Phoenix is allowing a ton of points per game, and Lowry put up 32 FPPG vs. Indiana last game.
PGRussel Westbrook$8,100/$8,600If both Green and Durant come back I would consider upgrading to Paul and downgrading elsewhere.
S.G.Eric Gordon$6,800/$9,100Easiest pick of the lineup.
S.G.Marco Bellinelli$5,000/$9,100I don’t love this pick with Jarret Jack in town, but I had to go cheap somewhere to get LeBron and Bellinelli had a high enough ceiling to make it worth it.
SFLeBron James$9,900/$9,900With D-Wade out, we could see a ‘vintage’ LeBron line tonight. Pay up.
SFDanny Granger$8,400Granger is capable of huge lines in big games, and should find a way to get it done vs. the Heat with D-Wade and Haslem out.
PFMichael Beasley$7,100/$8,700He should wind up an All-Star this season. Beastley is finally living up to his draft spot.
PFBlake Griffin$6,900/$8,700See video above.
CRoy Hibbert$7,400/$9,200Against a Haslem-less heat, look for Hibbert to continue building upon his monster season.
