Alfie Haaland, the father of Erling Haaland has revealed why his son did not join Leeds United instead of Manchester City in the summer.
Former Whites star James Milner even touched on how the 22-year-old told him that he planned to join the club a few years ago, as relayed by TEAMtalk.
Kalvin Phillips even stated (via BBC Radio 5 Live) that Erling Haaland disclosed to him that he was a “massive Leeds fan.”
The ex-Leeds midfielder even stated that him and Haaland had planned to pay Elland Road a visit by watching a “big game” together.
It isn’t a surprise to discover how affiliated the now-Manchester City goalscorer is to the club.
For starters, the youngster was born in Leeds.
Furthermore, Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland played for the club between 1997 and 2000, before he joined the Sky Blues.
Keeping these factors in mind, one can understand why the ex-Borussia Dortmund striker continues to have a soft spot for Leeds.

Haaland may only sign for Leeds at the end of his career
It would’ve been a story for the ages to witness the most sought-after young striker in the world in Erling Haaland follow in his father’s footsteps by joining Leeds United instead of a list of interested European giants.
However, Haaland’s ambition simply cannot be questioned, as he took the massive leap of signing for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
With Europe’s leading goalscorer not looking likely to slow down for the next decade, donning the Leeds shirt seems like a distant dream that he only chases at the end of his career.
