A 28-year-old Mountain Home man has died after a workplace accident along Interstate-84.

The Ada County Coroner's Office says Robert J. Jones died early Tuesday morning after he suffered traumatic injuries he sustained from heavy machinery.

His death was ruled an accident.

Jones was working on a repaving project near Exit 36 when the accident occurred. The incident is under investigation by Nampa Police.

The Idaho Transportation Department released the following statement

"The Idaho Transportation Department was grieved to learn of the death of Robert Jones, an employee of Concrete Placing Company, Tuesday morning as a result of an industrial accident on the Interstate 84 construction site.

The Department extends its condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of Mr. Jones. Concrete Placing Company is the contractor for the construction on I-84 in Nampa and the company has notified OSHA. ITD will cooperate with any investigation."
