BYU basketball lands Elijah Crawford

BYU had a connection to Crawford once he reopened his recruitment with newly hired assistant coach Brandon Dunson. Dunson was part of the Stanford staff that previously signed Crawford to the Cardinal.

“We are so excited to welcome Elijah and his family to BYU,” BYU head coach Kevin Young said. “He’s an outstanding young man who’s had a great career at Brewster Academy, one of the best high school programs in the country. As one of the best point guards in his class, his ball-handling and playmaking fit perfectly into our program. We look forward to helping him grow his game in Provo.”

Earlier this week, Crawford took part in an official visit to BYU’s campus. It was there he made his commitment official to Kevin Young and the BYU staff. Late Monday night, he shared a post on X with pictures from his trip to Provo.

After being released from his letter of intent to Stanford, Crawford reportedly garnered interest from Louisville, Kansas, Florida, and others.

Crawford is a composite Four-Star prospect

Crawford is a four-star composite recruit in the class of 2024. The 247Sports Composite rates Crawford as the 112th prospect nationally in the 2024 cycle.

Crawford is the second four-star composite prospect Kevin Young has landed since he was hired as the head coach at BYU last month. The other was Corner Canyon forward Brody Kozlowski.

Crawford averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game during his senior year at Brewster Academy.
