Update:

Boise Police are investigating a single motorcycle crash that happened on May 10 just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of West Beacon Street and West Boise Avenue.

Responding officers provided life-saving care to an injured man who had been riding the motorcycle when the crash happened.

According to Boise Police, the man was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police say that after an initial investigation, they believe the man was driving at a high rate of speed down Beacon Street towards Boise Avenue when the man lost control of the motorcycle and drove onto the sidewalk before crashing into a large tree. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the street.

Police had the intersection blocked for several hours as they investigated the crash and worked to clear the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash there is no word on if the man was wearing protective gear or not when the crash occurred.

The Ada County Coroner will release the identity of the man after the next of kin has been notified.
