Bobbie Jean Carter is the eldest daughter and second child of Jane Elizabeth (formerly known as Spaulding) and Robert Gene Carter. She was born on January 12, 1982, in New York, the United States of America.

On January 31, 2012, her younger sister, Leslie Carter, passed away at the age of 25 due to a drug overdose. She was discovered unconscious in the shower at her father and stepmother’s – Ginger Elrod – home in New York. Despite efforts to revive her, Leslie Carter did not regain consciousness and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Westfield Memorial Hospital. The drugs found in her system included olanzapine (used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder), cyclobenzaprine (a muscle relaxant) and alprazolam (commonly known as Xanax and used to treat anxiety).

Years later, Carter disclosed that her late sister had been battling bipolar disorder. Additionally, she revealed that their brother, Aaron Carter, had sexually abused Leslie Carter in the past.

On May 16, 2017, Carter’s father, Robert Carter, passed away at the age of 65. Nick, the oldest of the Carter siblings, shared the news of their father’s death on Twitter the following day. Aaron Carter also paid tribute to their father on Instagram, posting a photo of himself with Bob and referring to him as his real-life superhero.

Her younger brother Aaron Carter, passed away at the age of 34 on November 5, 2022, at his home in Lancaster, California. He was discovered unconscious in a bathtub. An autopsy was conducted, but the cause of death was not immediately determined. Police reportedly found cans of compressed air and prescription pills in his bathroom and bedroom. Aaron Carter was cremated on November 9, four days after his death, and his ashes were entrusted to his twin sister, Angel Carter.
